Is solid shampoo like soap for hair?

It may look like soap, but it’s not – solid shampoo is not regular soap. It’s made from gentle surfactant compounds that are specially formulated for hair and scalp.

They cleanse gently, help maintain moisture, and support healthy hair without leaving any “soapy” residue. In contrast, regular soap (even high-quality natural soap) is designed for cleansing the skin on your body, and its composition isn’t suitable for hair.

Solid shampoo is simply a concentrated, eco-friendly version of liquid shampoo – just without the bottle and the water. It’s perfect for travel and for keeping your hair healthy on a daily basis.

Does solid shampoo or conditioner contain sulfates?

My solid shampoo and conditioner are free from sulfates such as SLS or SLES – which are strong foaming agents that can dry out the scalp and cause sensitivities for some people.

Instead of sulfates, I use gentle, plant-based surfactants that are suitable for both the scalp and hair. The shampoo cleanses effectively, lathers beautifully, and leaves hair soft, clean, and balanced.
